Fuelchief SuperVault - Environmental Performance Award - Tank Storage Awards 2020

The Fuelchief SuperVault® has been shortlisted for Environmental Performance at the Global Tank Storage Awards 2020

When choosing an aviation fuel tank, it’s important to select a tank that caters to aviation industry requirements. At Fuelchief, we tailor our aviation fuel tanks in the following ways:

  1. An aviation hazard is algae in fuel tanks which can grow via the condensation from temperature changes. For this reason, each aviation fuel tank comes with a painted lining to keep the fuel cleaner and to prevent algae from growing.
  2. Condensation is water, which – being heavier than fuel – sinks to the bottom of tanks. We install a floating suction pump that draws fuel from the top of the aviation fuel tank, rather than from the bottom where condensation sits.
  3. Aviation fuel tanks are set on an inclining angle to reduce condensation build-up across the base.
  4. Aluminium walkways are attached to facilitate the thorough inspections that are the required for most aviation fuel tank inspections.

Aviation fuel tanks are high-spec tanks due to the high emphasis on safety. We offer a number of tank options suitable for aviation fuel, which are all bunded (double-skinned).

At Fuelchief, we’ve worked with a number of airports on their above-ground fuel tank solutions. As a guide on aviation fuel tank sizes, we’ve manufactured a 10,000-litre tank for a small aerodrome, and four 80,000-litre tanks for a regional airport. We regularly manufacture fuel tanks for several global oil brands, large mining operators, transport operators, building developers and fuel outlets

IMPORTANT NOTE: Insist on 95-03 as it is the only fire-rated tank in the world that can be repaired and re-used after the fire or event has occurred. The 95-03, 4-hour fire test involves an additional 2-hour fire exposure test using the same, fully assembled test tank for all tests.

In the event of a fire, the integrity of any tank certified to UL-2085 (2 hour) or SWRI 93-01 (4 hour) will be deemed to have been compromised and will not be compliant after the event.

Extended Warranty

A 30-year warranty is offered, providing the fire tank is installed and maintained in accordance with the industry standards, including de-watering of the primary tank.
