Established in 2005, Greenstar Earthmoving is a civil earthworks company which also covers areas such as road construction, drainage, plantation works and concreting. They are based in Alstonville Northern New South Wales.

Challenge:

With a broad range of machinery and skilled operators, Greenstar Earthmoving delivers quality work including civil earthworks, road construction, drainage and plantation works, house pads and retaining walls and concreting. They run their own fleet of trucks as well as utilising sub-contractors. Currently using the local service station to refuel their large fleet, Greenstar Earthmoving wanted an onsite fuelling solution to cut downtime and increase efficiency.

Fuelchief FTN30 Double Skinned Tank

Solution:

Through the Fuelchief website, Greenstar contacted Fuelchief’s Denis Dardengo to discuss home base refuelling. In consideration of Greenstar’s fuel usage and the local bulk fuel wholesaler’s delivery volumes, the ideal tank for the customer was the Fuelchief FTN30. With a safe fill of 28,000 litres, this cost-effective tank with a 20’ foot containerised footprint, allows efficient and economically sized delivery loads, allowing Greenstar to maximise their buying power.

Denis was also able to demonstrate significant time savings by adopting home depot based refuelling, keeping the Greenstar operators doing what they do best, rather than losing valuable time at the service station.
Coupled with the powerful Sapphire Lite 3G Fuel Management System; the Fuelchief tank package gave Greenstar a great solution for actively tracking their fleets fuel usage and tank levels remotely.
With Denis’s presentation outlining the value of the entire package, Greenstar decided to go ahead and purchase a Fuelchief FTN30 and the Sapphire Lite 3G FMS.

Result:

After the purchase of the Fuelchief FTN30 diesel fuel tank complete with the Sapphire Lite 3G Fuel Management System, Greenstar are able to collect anywhere between 10c – 20c per litre on their fuel usage. On top of that, further time savings are realised by fuelling the fleet in the home depot refuelling system rather than at the local service station.

These awesome savings in direct fuel costs and time mean that Greenstar are able to recoup their investment in the new fuel facility within the first 12 months of operation with the additional benefit of having complete visibility of their fuel usage per vehicle.
