Fern Energy (formerly Northfuels) client Pioneer Energy required bulk onsite fuel in a remote location near Lake Pukaki in the Mackenzie Basin. The site required fuel management and tank gauging for operational efficiency but had no access to mains power.
Key Account Manager Bernie Illston approached Fuelchief due to their range of large capacity self-bunded tanks as well as their ability to meet the brief using Everlink’s Fuel Management technology.
Fuelchief supplied a 20,000L (DC200) self-bunded fuel tank with two Honda driven pumps, one for unloading the fuel tanker and the second for dispensing fuel into machinery.
The Everlink Micro was supplied with a card reader for use with the client’s existing fuel cards, as well as a tank probe to supply live tank levels for delivery scheduling. The Everlink was powered by two solar panels with deep cycle battery.
With the tank installed and running, Northfuels are able to service a remote client that would otherwise be spending hours of their time transporting fuel from Twizel, over 30 minutes away from the work site.
Site manager Bill Davis says it’s great having the fuel available onsite and has increased their operational efficiency out of sight!
